HOLE-IN-ONE CHALLENGE @ WILD COAST SUN
26-29 August 2007
After a break of 3 years the South African Hole-in-One Society is proud to announce a Society tournament at the spectacular Wild Coast Sun. This venue has always been popular with Society members for its location, challenging golf, casino and value for money and we are confident that members new and old will enjoy what lies in wait for them.
The Wild Coast course, ranked 8th best in South Africa, is in immaculate condition and is receiving rave reviews from all who play there!
A “first” for a Society tournament at Wild Coast is that one round will be played on the ever- popular Southbroom course, providing variety and a different challenge.

The structure of the tournament, in line with the Society’s new direction, shows many changes from past tournaments – both on and off the course - and members and non-members alike can look forward to a highly enjoyable and fun-filled tournament.
The tournament runs from Sunday 26 August and ends after lunch and prizegiving on Wednesday 29 August. Members who wish to arrive early or spend an extra night can do so and special discounted rates have been negotiated for these options.
We look forward to welcoming many of the “old faces” as well as a large number of new members who will be attending their first Society tournament.
Evening entertainment is varied and includes a number of fun-filled optional activities.
As always, a special programme has been developed for the non-golfers and we also look forward to their company.

Sunday 26 August
Guests arrive and check-in. Optional golf can be pre-booked. Join us for a pre-dinner drink in the Country Club before dinner with live entertainment.
Monday 27 August
The tournament begins with a Friendly Fourball Alliance, which is guaranteed to bond friendships both old and new! The traditional Society Shootout will be held immediately after the day’s round and with a number of new additions to the past traditions is not to be missed. And be sure to receive your glass of spirit on the way to the tee!
Prize-giving will take place in the clubhouse immediately after the golf and for dinner this evening we have arranged an optional “night out in the Driftwood Restaurant”…always fun and a great way to get into the swing of things…advance booking will be required.
The non-golfers’ programme for today is relaxed and casual, but everyone can look forward to the usual fun and laughter.
Tuesday 28 August
Today is a Betterball Stableford competition and will be played on the beautiful SOUTHBROOM course, situated near to the Wild Coast Sun and an attraction for golfers in its own right. Scores from today will count as the first round scores of the overall tournament.
The non-golfers can enjoy another fun-filled morning, with a surprise waiting for you.
This evening we have arranged a 10-pin bowling competition, so bring your good form from the golf course and win some of the prizes on offer…and of course enjoy the fun, laughter and friendly competition.
Wednesday 29 August
The competition today is an Individual Stableford competition for A, B and C Divisions as well as a separate prize-table for the non-members. In addition to the Individual Stableford prizes, individual scores from Tuesday’s round at Southbroom will be added to today’s scores for a 36 hole total. The best combined score over the final 36 holes will receive the Arthur Barthus Memorial Trophy as the Hole-in-One Challenge winner of 2007.
The tournament ends with a lunchtime braai and prizegiving, after which members leave at their leisure. Those members who wish to spend an extra night can do so at the special discount accommodation rate (see package prices below).

The hotel charges an additional amount of R180,00 pp sharing (R60,00 per night) for a three night stay if a sea-facing room is required.
Bookings close on Thursday 26 July 2007 and unfortunately no late entries will be accepted. The deposit of R400,00 per person can be paid by credit card, cheque or EFT, but please note that cash deposits must include the accompanying bank charges. The balance of the package is payable no later than 31 July. Non-residents are asked to settle in full when booking.
