Graceland Casino & CC :: 24-27 November 2006
What better way to bring the year to an end than a gathering of members of the South African Hole-in-One Society at the ever-popular golfing destination of the Graceland Hotel, Casino & Country Club?

This wonderful golfing and leisure resort is the ideal venue for the Society’s new-style tournaments… more relaxed, more fun, more value for money. But the same friendship and camaraderie.

The hotel has once again given the Society superb package prices and these, coupled with the unmatched levels of service and support from the hotel as well as the unique and ideal setting for a Society tournament are certain to attract the usual large field. We also look forward to welcoming a large number of new members who will be attending their first Society tournament.

Three accommodation packages are available for guests staying in the hotel and there is also a special package for non-residents:
» For those who want a longer stay, Package 1 starts on the Wednesday.
» Package 2 starts on Thursday
» Package 3 guests arrive on Friday.

Guests arriving early on their arrival day are welcome to pay the additional green fees and join the day’s fun. The tournament ends with a prizegiving party on the Sunday evening and guests depart after breakfast on Monday.

The structure of the tournament, in line with the Society’s new direction, shows many changes from past tournaments – both on and off the course - and members and non-members alike can look forward to a highly enjoyable and fun-filled week-end.

This year the tournament has been scheduled a week before the Nedbank Challenge, which allows members the opportunity to enjoy both of these wonderful events!

The programme for this very special tournament is:

Wednesday 22 November: Package 1 guests arrive and check-in. Optional golf can be arranged through the Pro Shop. Join us for a pre-dinner drink on the Pool Terrace and the chance to meet the rest of the early arrivals.

Thursday 23 November: Golf for Package 1 guests today is a BetterBall Stableford competition. Early arrivals for Package 2 are welcome to pay for the golf and play in the competition. For the non-golfers we have arranged a relaxed morning’s entertainment to get you in the mood. Prize-giving will take place immediately after the golf and for dinner this evening we have arranged an optional “night out in the American Café”.

Friday 24 November:
The traditional Friendly Friday Alliance is guaranteed to bond friendships both old and new! Early arrivals for Package 3 are welcome to pay for the green fees and play in the competition as long as they advise us in advance. Alternatively, they can play an optional round of golf later in the day. The non-golfers can enjoy another fun-filled morning, with a surprise waiting for you. The putting competition this afternoon will allow everyone to get used to the speed of the greens and into the spirit. Pre-dinner drinks on the terrace will be followed by dinner with prize giving and live entertainment in the Augusta Lounge.

Saturday 25 November: Today is a Combined Stableford competition, with a number of new serious and fun additions to the prize-categories. The non-golfers’ programme for today is certain to be popular with everyone and they can look forward to the usual fun and laughter.

The traditional Society Shootout will be held immediately after the day’s round and with a number of new additions to the past traditions is not to be missed. And be sure to receive your glass o spirit on the way to the tee.

Sunday 26 November: The competition today is an Individual Stableford competition for A, B and C Divisions as well as a separate prize-table for the non-members. Another morning of fun has been arranged for the non-golfers with loads of sparkle. The tournament comes to an end with a seafood braai on the pool terrace which includes prize-giving and live entertainment…and the traditional Amarula back by popular demand.

Extremely attractive packages have been negotiated with Graceland Hotel and certainly offer wonderful value for money.

Bookings close on 13 November 2006 and unfortunately no late entries will be accepted. Only bookings made before 23 October will be able to order the official tournament branded clothing. The deposit of R400,00 per person can be paid by credit card, cheque or EFT, but please note that cash deposits must include the accompanying bank charges. The balance of the package is payable at the hotel. Non-residents are asked to settle in full prior to the tournament.

Please also note that golf car availability at Graceland is limited and will be subject to presentation of a medical certificate. Bookings for golf cars for the duration of the tournament can only be made through the Society office. Bookings made with the club’s pro shop for the tournament period will be invalid.

A range of commemorative clothing items has been produced for the tournament in association with our new sub-sponsors CAPE STORM and can be ordered by completing the relevant section of the booking form. Please note that orders for the commemorative clothing items close on 23 October to allow embroidery and transport to the Resort.

We look forward to welcoming you to one of South Africa’s top golfing resorts and enjoying a weekend of fun, golf, relaxation and great Society friendship.
